Job Purpose

The Technical Account Manager is responsible for being the technical liaison between the Hankook OE customers (automobile manufacturers) and the internal Hankook teams of Engineering, R&D, Quality, Sales, and Manufacturing. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Receiving and analyzing customer technical RFQ documents and engineering requirements
  • Deliver project technical requirements to Hankook R&D teams
  • Present technical assessments and program timing to customers
  • Develop program launch timelines and timing plans
  • Act as program manager for new product launches to deliver new products according to the timing plan
  • Gain knowledge and understanding of customer communication portals
  • Be the lead technical communicator and first contact to customers for all technical items
  • Manage and lead quality issue resolution and reporting to customers
  • Weekly/monthly reporting on project development and timing status
  • Make technical presentations to customers
  • Analyze car market technical trends
  • Join product testing when necessary
  • Gather information related to customer new vehicle plans and future technologies

Core Competencies

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of the English language.


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline required
  • Experience working for a Tier 1 automotive supplier
  • Experience working directly with automobile manufacturers
  • Tire industry experience preferred but not required
